Adam & Nicole Kern
Adam accepted Christ as a freshman at West Chester University when other men of God stood up for Jesus and showed Him what a true relationship with Christ looked like. After growing by leaps and bounds in his faith through the ministry of Cru on campus he felt a clear call from the Lord to serve Him and lead others towards a relationship with Christ. He experienced the best gift God has ever given Him when he crossed paths with his now wife Nicole. They were married in 2013. Adam graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor’s in Marketing. He then attended Calvary Chapel Bible College which really shaped him and helped deepen his love for God’s Word. After a few years serving as a Youth Pastor, Adam felt the Lord calling him to plant a church in the community where he grew up.
God has given him a desire to help people understand and love God’s Word, and create disciples that have a heart for people who don’t know Jesus personally. Adam served as a Church Planting Intern at Riverbend Community Church under Pastor Joe Velarde and Riverbend was the sending church that sent him out to plant in the Schnecksville/Orefield area. Along with other people that felt the Lord calling them to plant a church, The Vine Church was born and began meeting in Schnecksville in October 2016. Adam and his wife live in Macungie and enjoy family time, the Philadelphia 76ers, and Dorney Park!
Matt grew up in Lancaster County and accepted Christ in middle school, but it wasn’t until much later that he realized there was so much more he was missing in the form of a true relationship with his savior. After rededicating his life to Christ, he met and fell in love with his wife Lindsay. She was on a small “core team” for a church plant called The Vine Church. Shortly after attending the early gatherings, Matt jumped on board helping to run the church’s social media accounts, and as they say, the rest is history. Matt has been helping at the church with all things “tech-y”. He stepped into the role of elder in 2019 and was ordained as a pastor in 2022 before stepping into his current role of associate pastor, assisting with a variety of administrative tasks.
Matt lives in Macungie with his wife and two children. He recently graduated from Neumann University with his doctor of physical therapy degree, and works at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital when not at the church. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family outdoors hiking, kayaking, and at Dorney Park.
